National Registry: set Med-Stop as your third party
Last Updated: 09/25/2026

Med-Stop can submit your DOT medical examination results to the FMCSA National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners for you. To allow this, you, as the certified medical examiner, must select Med-Stop as your third party in the National Registry. Until you do, Med-Stop cannot submit exam results on your behalf.

Before you start

  • You need a National Registry account. The Registry uses Login.gov for sign-in.
  • You remain responsible for making sure each result is reported on time. Examiners must report results by midnight (local time) of the next calendar day after the exam (49 CFR 391.43(g)).

Steps

  1. Go to the National Registry and sign in with Login.gov. If this is your first visit, select Transfer or Create Account and follow the instructions.
  2. From the top menu, select My Profile, then Select Third Party.
  3. Find Med-Stop in the list (near the bottom) and select the plus icon to set Med-Stop as your third party.

What happens next

Med-Stop can then submit the results of the exams you record in Med-Stop to the National Registry. Check the Registry to confirm that each result was received.

For help with the Registry itself, see FMCSA National Registry self-help.
