Accidents

An accident record keeps the facts of an event together: the employee, date and time, injuries and fatalities, disabling damage, location, police report details, descriptions, witnesses, documents, and any related test requests and tests.
For DOT-regulated drivers, some accidents require post-accident drug and alcohol testing with strict time limits. Med-Stop does not decide this for you: the employer (usually the DER) must apply the rule for the employee's DOT agency and order the test promptly.
When an accident happens
- Decide whether a DOT post-accident test is required: Decide if a post-accident test is required.
- Record the accident: Create an accident record.
- Order any required test right away and link it to the accident: Post-accident test requests and tests.
