Accident descriptions

The Descriptions screen of an accident record holds the narrative details. You fill them in when creating the record and can update them later.
| Section | What to record |
|---|---|
| Injuries and fatalities | Who was hurt and how, and whether they were treated away from the scene. |
| Haz-Mat or gasoline spill | What was spilled and how it was handled. |
| Damage description | Damage to vehicles and property, including whether any vehicle was towed. |
| Witness information | Names and contact details of witnesses. |
| Police officer information | Officer name, agency, and any citation issued. |
| Vehicles involved | Each vehicle and driver involved. |
Record facts, not conclusions. Injury, tow-away, and citation details are what decide whether a DOT post-accident test was required.
