If your company starts the Med-Stop Random Service after one or more selection periods have passed, decide whether selections should cover the full year or only the periods from the start date.

When you can skip earlier periods

• New DOT-regulated company: if your company became DOT-regulated partway through the year, you do not need selections for the periods before that.
• Switching from another program: if you ran random testing through another service earlier in the year, you can skip those periods in Med-Stop. You remain responsible for keeping the selection records and reports from the earlier program.

How the target is adjusted

For DOT pools, the Skip Selections for Periods Before the Pool Start setting reduces the required percentage in proportion to the skipped periods. For example, a company that becomes DOT-regulated on April 1 with quarterly periods skips the first quarter, so it must complete three quarters of the annual target percentage for that year.

If the setting is No, selections are based on the full annual target and the average member count.
