How Med-Stop keeps random selections random

DOT rules require a scientifically valid selection method in which every pool member has an equal chance of selection each time (49 CFR 382.305(i)). The Med-Stop Random Service meets this with a random number table.
- Random numbers come from random.org, which generates them from atmospheric noise. Each number is used only once.
- Each draw first selects a pool member by random number. All members have an equal chance, and the member IDs used cannot be sorted in any meaningful order.
- The next random number then selects the test date within the selection period.
Every selection is logged in the pool history with the service, date, and member, so you can show auditors how selections were made.
