Employee Definition

An employee is an individual hired by an employer to perform job duties within the organization.
In Med-Stop, employee records may be used for compliance and testing workflows.
DOT-Regulated Employees
Employees who perform safety-sensitive work under Department of Transportation (DOT) rules are subject to mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
- CDL holders
- Operators of Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) weighing 26,000 lbs. or more
- Drivers of vehicles transporting 15 or more passengers
- Operators of vehicles transporting hazardous materials that require a DOT placard
These employees are subject to the requirements of 49 CFR Part 40.
