Change a random selection status
Last Updated: 09/24/2026
Most selections close automatically when the test is recorded. Change the status yourself only when a selection cannot be completed as planned, for example when the employee left the company, or when the employee refused the test.
Steps
- Open the selection and select Change Status (available for open and expired selections).
- Check the employee, what they were selected for, and the selected and requested dates.
- Choose the Final Random Selection Status.
- Enter Random Selection Status Remarks explaining why the selection could not be completed.
- Select Determine Final Status.
Tips
- This changes the selection, not the test request. To reschedule or cancel the test, open the test request.
- For a refusal, Med-Stop asks whether to create a refusal record and how the employee was notified. Use Refusal only when it is truly a refusal; otherwise cancel the selection. A DOT refusal may need to be reported.
- A canceled selection can be replaced by a reserve selection for the same period.
