Exclude an employee from random selection only when they should not be in the pool, for example because they do not perform safety-sensitive functions or are tested through another program. Do not exclude an employee to avoid or clear a selection.

Steps

1. Open the employee's record and select the Random tab.
2. Set the employee not to be included for the pool type (drug, alcohol, or both).
3. Enter the reason for the exclusion.
4. Select Update.

What happens next

The employee is removed from every pool that matches the exclusion and appears in the pool's list of employees excluded from selection. The reason is kept in the record.
