Does a Med-Stop record by itself prove medical qualification?

No. A saved record or uploaded document in Med-Stop is not by itself a medical qualification decision. Only a medical examiner listed on the National Registry decides whether a driver is qualified (49 CFR 391.43).
- For CDL and CLP holders, check the medical certification status on the driver's state record; since June 23, 2025, FMCSA sends it to the state electronically.
- For other drivers, keep a copy of the current Medical Examiner's Certificate in the driver qualification file.
- Ask the medical examiner about the examination outcome, and contact Med-Stop Support about missing or incorrect records in the app.
