Getting started / Two-factor authentication mobile applications

Med-Stop allows you to use the mobile authentication app to get the security codes required for Med-Stop sign in as well as performing some security protected tasks.

When setting up your Med-Stop security you can specify that you want to use the "authentication app". The mobile apps for authentication include: Google Authenticator, Twilio Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, and many others. Please scan the presented QR code with your mobile device - enter the generated 6 digit code below.

Authenticator apps are considered more secure than texting; in addition, they offer flexibility when you are traveling to a place without cellular service. Popular options include Authy, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator. These apps mostly follow the same procedure when adding a new account: you scan a QR code associated with your account, and it is saved in the app. The next time you log in to your service or app, it will ask for a numerical code; just open up the authenticator app to find the randomly generated code required to get past security.

Google Authenticator

Google Authenticator generates 2-Step Verification codes on your phone. 2-Step Verification provides stronger security for your Google Account by requiring a second step of verification when you sign in. In addition to your password, you’ll also need a code generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone.

Twilio Authy 2-Factor Authentication

The Authy app generates secure 2 step verification tokens on your device. It help’s you protect your account from hackers and hijackers by adding an additional layer of security.

Microsoft Authenticator

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is easy, convenient, and secure when you use Microsoft Authenticator. Use your phone, not your password, to log into your Microsoft account. Just enter your username, then approve the notification sent to your phone. Your fingerprint, face ID, or PIN will provide a second layer of security in this two-step verification process. After you’ve signed in with two-factor authentication (2FA), you’ll have access to all your Microsoft products and services, such as Outlook, OneDrive, Office, and more.
