Getting started / Two-factor authentication mobile applications

Mobile Authentication with Med-Stop

Med-Stop allows you to use a mobile authentication app to generate the security codes required for signing in, as well as for performing certain security-protected tasks.

When configuring your Med-Stop security settings, you may choose to use an authentication app. Supported mobile authentication apps include Google Authenticator, Twilio Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, and many others.

To complete setup, scan the displayed QR code with your mobile device and enter the generated 6-digit code into the provided field.

Authenticator apps are considered more secure than SMS (text message) authentication. They also offer greater flexibility when traveling in areas without cellular service.

Most authenticator apps follow the same setup process: scan a QR code associated with your account, and the account will be stored in the app. During future logins, you will be prompted to enter a numerical verification code, which can be retrieved by opening the authenticator app.

Google Authenticator

Google Authenticator generates two-step verification codes on your phone. Two-step verification enhances account security by requiring a second verification step when signing in.

In addition to your password, you must enter a code generated by the Google Authenticator app to complete the login process.

Twilio Authy (Two-Factor Authentication)

The Authy app generates secure two-step verification tokens on your device. It protects your account from unauthorized access by adding an additional layer of security.

Microsoft Authenticator

Microsoft Authenticator provides an easy, convenient, and secure two-factor authentication (2FA) experience. You can use your phone instead of a password to sign in to your Microsoft account.

After entering your username, approve the notification sent to your phone. Your fingerprint, Face ID, or PIN provides the second layer of security.

Once signed in with 2FA, you gain access to Microsoft services such as Outlook, OneDrive, Office, and others.
